This guide is primarily for  Brightspace (D2L) Administrators or whoever manages your institution's Brightspace (D2L) environment. If you don’t see the Admin options on your Brightspace (D2L) site, you'll want to contact your institution to request integration assistance.

A brief overview of the setup guide:

  1. Complete steps 1 - 3 below inside your D2L environment.
  2. Fill out the integration form provided by Yellowdig with your LTI 1.3 configuration details and wait for confirmation that your setup is completed.

LTI 1.3 Setup Steps

STEP 1: LTI 1.3 Tool Registration

On D2L (Brightspace), go to Settings (Gear Icon) -> Manage Extensibility -> LTI Advantage -> Register Tool. Select Standard Registration.

Fill in the form with the following details:

  Extensions- select all

- Assignment and Grade Services

- Deep Linking

- Names and Role Provisioning Services.

Roles- select all:

- Send Institution Role

Register the Tool.

A box containing the details below will be presented to you. Copy these details and add them to your integration form. The next step (Step 2) in this guide produces a Deployment ID that you'll need to add as well.

- Client ID

- Keyset URL

- Oauth 2 Access Token

- OpenID Authentication Endpoint

- OAuth 2 Audience

- Issuer

STEP 2: Creating a New Deployment

Within the box containing details, click View Deployments then New Deployment to create a New Deployment. Within the Tool Dropdown, select the tool that was just registered. Fill in the rest of the form with the following details:

  • Name: Yellowdig 1.3
  • Description:  Yellowdig Engage

Enable all Extensions and security settings except for "Anonymous".

"Auto Create Grade Items" should be left unchecked by default -- the Grade Item for Yellowdig is created at the course level when it is added to the course(s).

Select the Org Units that the Tool will be made available to, then Create Deployment.

Then send Yellowdig the Deployment ID in your integration request form.

From the Brightspace Deployment Details box, click View Links - New Link.

These newly created links can be used to insert links and assignments as Course Content into a Brightspace (D2L) course.
