Troubleshooting Mobile Push Notifications
You can choose which notifications you'll receive in Yellowdig. You can enable or disable email, in-app, or mobile notifications for new posts, replies to your posts, new reactions to your posts, new @mentions, followers' activities, and more. In this article we will discuss how to do so, both for an individual community you're a part of (community-level), as well as for your entire Yellowdig account.
Change Your Notification Settings (Global)
These settings are for your whole account, rather than just for an individual community you're a member of.
To change your notification settings, from the Organization Menu, go to User Options > Account Settings:
Then, from the Settings menu > select Notifications and use the toggle switches to turn on or off any settings you'd like.
Override Community-Level Notification Settings
You can override your global settings and customize the notification you receive from a specific community you're a member of.
To override community-level notification settings, from the Community Menu, go to Settings > Notifications and use the toggle switches to turn on or off any settings you'd like.
Reset community-level notifications settings overrides
Whenever you override notifications settings for a specific community you follow, you can reset these back to your global settings.
To reset community-level notifications settings overrides, from the Community Menu go to Settings > Notifications and click Go to global notifications settings:
Once on the My Notifications Settings page, you can choose to Reset all community-level overrides or reset each individual setting.

3. Verify Network Connectivity
- Ensure the device is connected to a stable internet connection (WiFi or Mobile Data).
- If on a restricted network (corporate or university), verify that push notification ports are not blocked.
4. Force Close and Reopen the App
- Swipe away the app from recent apps and reopen it.
- Check if notifications start coming through.
5. Restart the Device
- Restarting can refresh push notification services.
6. Reinstall the App
- Uninstall the app, restart the device, and reinstall it.
- Log in again and check notification settings.
7. Test with a Different Device
- If possible, test on another device to determine if the issue is device-specific.
