At any given time, a user's privileges are determined by their role relative to the Organization they are in. This is important to keep in mind in cases where a user has one role in one Organization and another role in another Organization. For example, if a user has Administrator status in the Finance Department Organization and Member status in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Organization, they can promote other users in the Finance Department Organization only when they are in the Finance Department Organization, and they can discover new Communities in the CAS Organization only when they are in the CAS Organization. Therefore, if a user is currently in the Finance Department Organization but wants to discover Communities in the CAS Organization, they will need to move from the Finance Department Organization to the CAS Organization.

To move between Organizations, click on the Organization Options icon at the bottom-left (located above your avatar, aka User Options) and select "Switch Organization" within the pop-up menu. From here, you can move to Sub-Organizations of the Organization you're currently in or move to any other Organization in your organization for which you have a Role.

You cannot explore an Organization for which you do not have a Role unless it's a Sub-organization of an Organization for which you have a role. To gain access to an Organization for which you do not currently have a Role, you will need to be invited by an Administrator in that Organization.
