Organization Roles, Permissions, and Visibility: A Cheat Sheet

The previous article defined Organization roles in terms of Organization permissions and Community visibility. The table below summarizes that information. It's a handy reference for anyone with administrative responsibilities in Yellowdig, and Tier 1 Administrators should ensure that all Admins in their institution are familiar with this material.

  • Organizations of which user is an Admin.
  • Sub-organizations of Organizations of which user is an Admin.

Can create Sub-organizations in:

  • Organizations of which user is an Admin.

    Can promote other users to Organization Administrator or Member status.

 

Can discover and request to join Communities in:
  • Organizations of which user is a Member
  • Sub-organizations of Organizations of which user is a Member
Instructor (LTI Launch)

Can read/write public Community content and LTI-create Communities in:

  • Organizations of which user is a Member
Can discover and request to join Communities in:
  • Organizations of which user is a Member
  • Sub-organizations of Organizations of which user is a Member
Organization Member


Can 
read/write public Community content in:

  • Organizations of which user is a Member
Can discover and request to join Communities in:
